Evergreen Lodge is located in the middle of the exuberant Tortuguero tropical jungle, at just 5 minutes from the main entrance of Tortuguero National Park. Its strategic location allows you to explore this magical and unique protected natural reserve surrounded by high trees and lush vegetation. In front of Evergreen Lodge Hotel, there is calm Penitencia canal, which is part of the Tortuguero National Park navigable canal network.
The tropical jungle of this region is considered to be one of the most exotic and rich places of Costa Rica in terms of its flora and fauna. Besides, this national park is the most important area in Costa Rica for green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) to lay eggs after arriving at the North Caribbean coast between July and October. After 60 days of the eggs being laid, little turtles will hatch out.
Evergreen Lodge has 36 rustic bungalows built on pillars in the Caribbean style, respecting the surrounding nature in order not to affect wildlife. Rooms are spacious and have comfortable beds, a private bathroom, hot water, and ceiling fans. Cabins have been carefully decorated with wooden and bamboo furniture which reflects a unique tropical style. Besides, they have a small swimming pool surrounded by gardens of Heliconias, orchids, and tropical palm trees.
Our facilities have an excellent restaurant with ceiling fans. In it, you will be able to enjoy first-class meals in an atmosphere with complements itself with the jungle paradise. Thanks to our strategic location, you can also access Tortuguero National Park by kayak in one of our optional tours. Consequently, you will travel through the canals of this national park. Among the most visited canals are Caño Harold, Caño Mora, Caño Chiquero, and Tortuguero River, where you can watch toucans, monkeys, otters, macaws, turtles, and cranes, among others.
